Preliminary Task 2 : Revisions

Changes Made:

  • We Took out the couch scene and added a scene of Tori at the bar
  • Added dissolves to better the transition from the boy and girl talking at the beginning to the main girl singing
  • We took out the spin and replaced it with the boy and the girl fight and being mad at each other
  • We added a dissolve to the transition of the boy and the girl talking to the main girl singing in the end

Preliminary Task 2: Editing

What We Did

  • First we had to look through all our video to make cuts because we had over 20 minutes of film.
  • We removed all the audio from the video.
  • We trimmed down the first scene/cut to 20 seconds.
  • Mr.Callovi helped us with the lighting on our video.

Why We Did It

  • First we had to look through all our video to make cuts because we had over 20 minutes of film. We did this because our video needs to be less than one minute and thirty seconds.
  • We removed all the audio from the video. We did this because we need to insert the music.
  • We trimmed down the first scene/cut to 20 seconds. We did this because the scene was too long.
  • Mr.Callovi helped us with the lighting on our video. We did this because the light fixtures in our video were drawing attention away from the scene.

Here Seyla put this scene in slow motion to show the happiness of the other girl with the boyfriend.

This clip is in slow motion to demonstrate the main girl’s sadness in the end.

Similar to Research

In my research, the editor of the video made certain scenes in slow motion to portray each character differently. For example when the girl was happy with her boyfriend some scenes were in slow motion, Seyla added similar effect to our video to mimic the same feeling. This was done similarly to the actual “Break up with your Girlfriend” music video.
